Creative Iraqis at home and abroad

The episode's guest is a young maqam singer from Baghdad who trained at the Iraqi Maqam House and holds weekly evening performances on the banks of the Tigris near Sarafiya Bridge. He talks about the differences between the main maqams and a young audience that has begun returning to the art form, and performs an excerpt of Maqam Rast in the studio with a Baghdadi chalghi ensemble.
